    Chi Japanese Cuisine, a local Japanese Restaurant, located at Woodlands, is hiring for Sushi Chef and Kitchen workers. Candidates must be hard-working and maintain composure while multitasking in a high-stress environment. It’s a 10-hour shift position Monday thru Sunday.

    Prior sushi chef experience is preferred but not required. We offer in-depth training to any novices who wants to join us.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare all types of sushiand sashimi
    • Select fresh fruits and vegetables to make high-quality dishes (like avocado, mango and carrots)
    • Ability to perform all duties and serve in whatever capacity needed by the business as is determined by the manager or chef.
    • Responsible for the preparation of all food items at the station according to specifications and pre-set time limits.
    • Orders ingredients as directed.
    • Manage food prep activities, like boiling rice
    • Coordinate with our waitersto ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
    • Prepare appetizers, soups and salads as needed
    • Monitor food stock and place orders, as needed
    • Maintain hygiene principles in all cooking areas and clean your space at the end of the shift

     

    Skills:

    • Two-year experience is preferred
    • One-year experience is welcomed
    • We offer in-depth training to apprentice, feel free to contact us if you are interested in learning how to become a chef.
    • Ability to work both fast and accurately
    • Availability to work during business hours, including weekends and evenings
    • Flexibility to take on various shifts preferred

      Set and manage budgets, approve timesheets, and oversee the payroll process. Play a strategic role in setting sales goals to ensure that there’s enough cash flow to pay employees and vendors. Inventory management. Negotiate rates and contracts with vendors.

      Manage the company website by keeping it up-to-date with photos, promotions, new dishes and more. Create and build a social network. Come up with different promotions.
